Custard, Plants, and what is wrong with our Tomatoes???

We will always remember Michael Jackson. Had to pull out the Thriller album and play it all night last night to celebrate his memory. "He is one hell of a dancer" -Fred Astaire

Our roses are blowing up, despite the lack of rain...

Police on horses, headed down Georgia Avenue.
Mexican Chocolate Custard, based on Molly Katzen's recipe from the original Moosewood Cookbook. If I made it again, I think I would mix some high quality dark chocolate in--I needed a little more bitterness.
(yes, I used coffee cups because I don't have custard cups. They matched, though!)
My favorite flower in the entire world, my gladiolas :) They make me glad.
Petunias!

Peppers!
Healthy tomatoes...

Okay--my Gardening Gurus...what happened to these guys??

(I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with 100 degree days and no rain for a week....)

I can't leave this post with such a sad end...one more flower picture for you.

Mmm...Tasty custard. No worries about not using custard cups. As long as there's custard to be eaten, that's all that matters.

Beautiful flowers!

Sorry about those tomatoes but looks like the healthy ones are growing nicely and your garden is beautiful! The chocolate custard looks delish!

We have custard cups- no custard though.... I think it's more important to have the custard than an empty cup!

Custard, glads and a beautiful garden. I'm set.

I love gladiolas! I once grew a whole wicker baby's bassinet filled with them! Incredibly beautiful.

As for the tomatoes...check this link out. I have a feeling this is the problem.

No clue about the tomatoes...but have you ever pickled peppers?? We had an abundance of jalepenos a few years ago. They were very easy to can. We had so many jars of them we had plenty to share!

custard looks amazing! and I'm so envious of all the bountiful plants! I have the death thumb, so all plants just wither on me! :-(

Jenn--thanks! I concur :)

5 Star--thanks! Yeah, I think the bad tomatoes result from the soil, so there's not much I can do...

Buffalo--we should get together, I'll bring the custard, you bring the cups ;)

Louise--I think you're right!! Well, I'll put some eggshells in the soil next spring, I guess ;)

Girli--I don't think I've played that album this much since elementary school ;)

Tommie--I've only pickled cucumbers...good idea, though!

Burp--thanks! Honestly, Tavo really gets credit for the garden, it's his baby :)

Put your custard in a wine glass and it will be really pretty. Just use glass, not crystal, so it doesn't break. Brew up some weak coffee and mix it with grounds, or mix water with used grounds to improve your soil for your garden. Don't know that it will help those tomatoes, but it helps the garden in general and helps keep creepy crawlies out of it (they eat the grounds and get all caffeinated out).

Michael Jackson was only 2 years older than me; I remember when the Jackson 5 started. Talk about an age scare! Sad.

This happened to my tomatoes a few years ago and I never figured out what was the issue. It spread to the other tomatoes unfortunately but I just cut around it and threw out the bad stuff.I have my stuff to make my garden all ready just have to hunt for some seeds. I know u like your peppers!!! I really dont know what is up with those tomatoes...
