One more house post for you...then we have to go back to our regular jobs

Ahh, the end of a vacation is always bittersweet, eh? This one has been fabulous. It rained too much for us to paint anymore on the exterior, but we feel pretty good about all that was accomplished.

Tavo tackled the side window...and won! (Honestly, if you know any hoodlums, tell them to graffiti instead of breaking windows. Such a pain and dangerous to replace!)
(KICK!)

And..he went for the back window next!

Cutting plexiglass. We figured plexiglass would stand up to intruders a bit better than glass...

He also decided to scrape up the linoleum and see if the wood floors are salvageable. They look pretty good!
Meanwhile, I bogarted the ladder and threw some "Warm Honey" up on the kitchen walls.

I also finished hanging the stars. That wood ceiling is thicker than one would think!
I was slightly dismayed at a certain major chain hardware store's inability to match paint color...

But I went to a different chain and ended up getting a gallon cheaper than a quart! I am now officially biased.
We also hung some frou frou victorian deco. I love this stuff!
Even though its a pain to paint, a pain to hang...
It just looks pretty.

And for the safety minded, we purchased the extra large extinguisher.

So--next week we get plumbing. Look forward to the exciting "Purchasing a Toilet" post. I promise, I'll mix some food in, too! (oh goodness...that doesn't sound right at all!)

Well it is all coming together! I hate to tell but it was clear and sunny...little patches of snow, but the temp was around 76 degrees...

Doggy--thanks! It's coming together slow and steady. I'm afraid I'm boring you all to death...

Photo--oh! I'm jealous! I finally was able to shed the long johns today--but you better believe I kept the sweat shirt on!!

I have really enjoyed getting caught up on your blog. You house is wonderful! You two are doing such a great job and I know it is so satisfying and hard to do the work yourself.

That wood floor is so exciting. In our first house, I pulled up a ton of stained white and teal (yuck) carpet and finding decent hardwood was so awesome. BTW, if it's in your price range I'm in love with the toilets we're getting. Dual flush, easy clean sides, comfort height, great styling, I swear I'm not a Kohler rep.
