impressionist picnic

Here are some nice impressionist shots from my phone of Tavo and I having a Whole Foods picnic at our new house.

(I worked at Whole Foods for a few years, so I know who to hit up for the best deals)

Tavo had some ribs, we shared a loaf of rosemary sourdough, a 2005 screwtop Shiraz, a soft Port Salut cow's milk cheese, and two honeycrisp apples. Okay--these apples are pricey--I think I paid $3 for 2 apples. Kid, they're worth it. Not everyday, but on an otherwise boring Tuesday--grab you a honeycrisp. The space heater made it all good!

is tavo getting deployed or is this a monthly shear? I love picnics just like this - as often as I can.

monthly shear :) He has to keep it short for drill and we didn't get to the barber shop in time.

Honey crisp is my apple of choice for apple crisp...

Buffalo--I like to just eat them plain! Granny Smiths are my favorite for pies, though

I'm so jealous of your Atlanta ribs! We finally get a smokehouse at the new Whole Foods in Rochester and the ribs and other bbq sucks!! They dump a ton of blah sauce over everything, northerners just can't do great bbq. Every time we drive south I start to look for bbq as soon as we're south of Cincinnati.

BTW, the best part about the coconut milk yogurt is that it doesn't have an overwhelming coconut taste. The vanilla and plain have a little touch of coconut but the fruit flavors just taste like low fat cow's milk yogurt.

Love your dinner....seriously, wine cheese and bread. My personal idea of nirvana!

PS, the dinner went fine. I prepped 90% of it because we had gymnastics until just an hour or so before dinner time. But it all went well. Some big dawgs were there, so I was kind of intimidated!
