Jambalaya and Couchsurfing

So, we made some jambalaya...

I used Emeril's Recipe. It was pretty good--had one gal from New Orleans over, and she said it was good but a little different...

We are a member of the site, Couchsurfing and we are hosting this week. Two girls on a tennis scholarship to a southern university, and they're traveling :) Kathi and Lisa are from Germany and RĂ©union, respectfully.

Some more friends came over...

...and we played cards. "Cucharita" was the game, and surprisingly, one Colombian was out fairly soon--but Tavo hung on for a bit longer. Liz was the winner, followed closely by Lisa!

Below, witness the losers...and we're quite happy about it!

and after all this fun on a Wednesday night, some Colombian coffee ended our evening. Happy Thursday, folks!

Yummy!!! Jambalaya and a night with friends, topped some coffee. Now that's what I call a good time.

Couch surfing - sounds like a great way to meet new people, yes? Your jambalaya looks great; I've never had it, because my dearly beloved can't take hot spices (acid reflux is bad news).

One of my favorite dishes- of course mine has meat and seafood in it!

Jenn--it was a good night!

Girli--I was so impressed by that photo! Complete accident, of course, and sprayed all over the counter ;)

Marjie--Couchsurfing is a really neat thing to do. I like hosting--I'm pretty sure the girls had a good time.

Buffalo--I was making this for the masses, so it is the real deal. Sausage, chicken and shrimp are all in there!

The 15th of October is Emeril's birthday. You made him proud. Your "party" sounds like a fun night and that Jambalya certainly made the night good and spicy!!!

DAN!! Please come here as soon as possible :)

My parents are in town next weekend, but the weekend after is open...and its Halloween! Also, the 7th of November, there is a 5K and the Cabbagetown Chili festival--that will be a lot of fun, too :) Please come visit us!
