Kickin' it with the Broccoli Squash Casserole

The venerable Tribe Called Quest...

(initially I looked up, "It's Like Butter" but couldn't find a video...look it up. Dig the song. Eat some butter)

Everyone likes their casserole a certain way--and lord knows as a midwestern gal, I can make a casserole worth my weight in Velveeta. I also know that each casserole maker is extremely opinionated on 1. Level of cookedness for veg 2. Amount of cheese 3. Saucy vs. Not Saucy

So, mine is perfect. But chances are that if you didn't grow up with it, you wouldn't like it the way I make it. Dig? This is a little broccoli, squash, onion, butter, flour, milk, egg, and a whole lotta cheese. Can I kick it? Yes I can!

I'd say you can kick it, and kick it well. I am virtually plunging my face into that casserole dish and getting 3rd deg burns all over myself, but it's worth it.

Three things cause me to lose my train of thought:
1. The words "Free Drinks"
2. The words "Breasts"
3. The words " Cheese"

yeah, you kicked it. My kids would definitely like it on the cheese factor alone. Are you coughing up the recipe or it is an ancient lini secret?

Jesse--ouch! Don't burn yourself! It'll cool down :)

Doggy--kicked indeed!

Katherine--thanks! kicking all over the casserole :)

Buffalo--one out of three isn't bad. Free Drinks at our place!

Darius--Hey--I'm headed to your town tomorrow!

Fightin'--I think so too!

Tommie--ancient Lini secret ;0) Honestly--its pretty much the standard broccoli casserole recipe, except I don't use cream of mushroom soup.

Anonymous--wait a sec...that sounds familiar!

Blonde Duck--I ate it all! I'll make more :)
