Isn't it exciting when you try a new restaurant, and you are completely blown away? This is our second trip in three days to East Atlanta's Holy Taco and we love it.
Taco joints in Atlanta are fairly common--and this isn't to be confused with our favorite Mexican joint--shout out to Mi Barrio (they don't have a website). So honestly, we weren't expecting anything out of the ordinary. A few of our friends had told us it was really good and on Sunday night we decided to give it a try. We ordered the pico de gallo, I chose the pescado frito (fried tilapia), and Tavo chose the carne de puerco (pork shoulder) and carne de falda (beef brisket). Wow. wow. wow. Top that off with a $1.75 Budweiser and you have two very happy campers.
We went back last night, because I wanted to try the elote asado (oh my corn goodness!) and Tavo wanted to try the camerones. Again, we were floored.
I ordered the house margarita, and it was pretty decent. (see the empty glass in the background) The bartender told me I needed to try the organic house margarita and gave us a sample--oh wow. Very good! Much more complex taste than the regular house. I will probably have to try a few more just to make sure ;)
Thank you Holy Taco for a great dinner!
...oh another little note...it's Mr. Tavo's birthday today. Happy Birthday, babe!!

Happy Birthday! I would happily visit any place called Holy Taco!
I am very jealous that I'm not in Atlanta right now. Not that we have any kind of shortage of great Mexican places in Los Angeles, but those pictures look delicious!
